Why medication tracking matters
Long-term cat care often includes more than one medication. A cat may have a daily medicine, a twice-daily medicine, a medication given only on certain days, and an as-needed medication for specific situations.
A clear log helps answer simple but important questions: what was due, what was given, what time it was given, and whether anything unusual happened afterward.
How it works in FeliVitals
- Add the medication once. Save the name, dose, unit, schedule type, start date, and daily dose pattern.
- Log each dose when it happens. Mark individual doses, record the time, adjust the logged dose if needed, and add a note.
- Review the week later. Trends shows dose dots, logged times, and medication notes by day.
Add medication
Add daily, specific-day, every-X-days, or PRN medications. For scheduled meds, you can set one dose or multiple doses per day.
Manage active meds
Keep current medications active and move old medications to inactive without losing their history.
Log medications
Use the daily medication screen to mark each dose separately. FeliVitals can store the logged time and a note for that day.
Review trends
See a weekly medication summary with completed doses, logged times, and notes grouped by date.

Reminders, shared care, and reports
FeliVitals also supports reminders, so medication tasks can be scheduled beside other care tasks. Shared care helps household members see the same care record. With Premium, PDF export can include medication history for a vet visit.
Those records can make appointments easier because you can show the medication list, logged doses, missed or delayed doses, and notes in context with appetite, weight, hydration, symptoms, and labs.

Can I keep old medications without showing them as current?
Yes. You can mark medications inactive. They move out of the active list while their history remains available.

No. FeliVitals stores the records you enter. Your veterinarian should guide dosing, frequency, and treatment changes.
