Why hydration records help
Hydration care can include water from a bowl, syringe feeding, hydration supplements, wet food moisture, and SubQ fluid sessions. Keeping these records together makes it easier to see what happened each day.
This can be useful for cats with CKD, diabetes, constipation, appetite changes, urinary concerns, or any plan where your veterinarian asks you to watch fluid intake closely.
How it works in FeliVitals
- Log oral water. Add one or more oral intake entries with amount, method, and time.
- Log SubQ fluids. Add one or more SubQ sessions with volume, site, and time.
- Review trends. See oral and SubQ totals together, with goal progress and recent history.
Log oral water
Record water from bowl, syringe, or hydration supplement. You can add several entries in one day and keep the time for each one.
Log SubQ fluids
Record SubQ fluid volume, site, and time. Multiple sessions can be saved for the same date when your vet plan requires it.
Review trends
Trends combines oral water and SubQ fluids, shows goal progress, and lists recent entries with their amounts and times.
Daily goals and food moisture
On the Today screen, you can set a daily hydration goal such as 200 ml. The summary rings then show how much of the goal has been logged for the day.
In Manage Food, you can turn on food moisture hydration. When that option is active, FeliVitals uses the food portion and moisture percentage to add water from wet food to the daily hydration total.

Helpful for chronic cat care
Hydration records can help you prepare for vet visits because they sit beside weight, appetite, feeding, medications, litter box changes, symptoms, labs, and notes.
The app keeps the history clear. Your veterinarian should decide how to interpret it and whether your cat's fluid plan should change.

Can I track oral water and SubQ fluids separately?
Yes. The hydration screen has separate oral and SubQ tabs, and Trends shows both parts of the daily total.
Can food moisture count toward the hydration total?
Yes. Turn on food moisture hydration in Manage Food. FeliVitals can then add water from wet food to the daily total.
Does FeliVitals recommend SubQ fluid amounts?
No. FeliVitals stores the records you enter. Your veterinarian should guide fluid amount, frequency, and treatment changes.
